Rangers agree to sign Taylor Pyatt to two-year deal

July 3, 2012, by

Via Darren Dreger, the Rangers have agreed to sign winger Taylor Pyatt to a two-year deal worth $1.55 million annually. The 30-year-old spent the last three seasons with the Coyotes, averaging 13-11-24 while playing in at least 73 games each year. Pyatt has also spent time with the Islanders, Sabres, and Canucks. I’ll leave the in-depth analysis up to our resident experts.

He gonna play third line or something? Maybe play 4th line left wing and send Rupp to AHL or trade him

  2. Rob sahm says:

Get sather his medication like thorozine cause he is nuts pyatt lol lol lol

  3. Justin says:

You’re quick on the draw Axisa…my guess is that spells the end of Fedotenko on Broadway…

  4. jay h says:

Mike, what happened to the RAB commments? I was gone for a little over a year and now they’re filled with nutcases.

  5. Rickyrants13 says:

This is a good sign. 2 year deal paid with peanuts. For a big winger who plays both sides. Can move up and down the lineup as needed.

  6. Scully says:

    Axisa blue seats sighting!

I like this move. This is a good bottom 6 depth move the dude is a year removed from scoring 18 and had another season where he scored 23. He can play both pp and pk. He’s also only 30 so he’s got experience but is no means over the hill. This is Prust’s replacement.

  7. Walt says:

Pyatt+Asham, for Feds+Prust! We stand to be a bit stronger for this because we save cap, have a guys who can score, plays both the PK+PP. All for the cost of Prust alone, this is a good deapth move, and the man Pyatt can play both wings. Vast improvement over Feds, who slowed down too much last season.

Now Slats, get us that scorer, either Ryan, or Nash, and do it fast. There are so many GM’s on this site that want your head, and then if the scorer doesn’t work out for us, these same GM’s will call for your head because you made a bad trade. Come to think of it Slats, you can’t win for losing, now can you???
