Opponent: Edmonton Oilers

Leading Scorer: Ryan Nugent-Hopkins (4-1-5)

Goaltender: Nikolai Khabibulin (0.95 GAA, .960 SV%)

Rangers Lines:

Derek Stepan-Brad Richards-Marian Gaborik
Brandon Dubinsky-Artem Anisimov-Ryan Callahan
Ruslan Fedotenko-Brian Boyle-Brandon Prust
Mike Rupp-Erik Christensen-Kris Newbury

Ryan McDonagh-Dan Girardi
Tim Erixon-Steve Eminger
Michael Del Zotto-Brendan Bell

Henrik Lundqvist
Martin Biron

Scratches: Wojtek Wolski (groin), Marc Staal (concussion symptoms), Mike Sauer (shoulder), Jeff Woywitka (healthy)

Preview: Henrik Lundqvist has essentially stolen two games in a row. The Rangers took four “bad” penalties last game, which was an improvement over the eight penalties they took against Vancouver. They need to stay out of the box against a dangerous and young Oilers team. There is a lot of offensive talent on this team, and they can easily capitalize with the man advantage if given enough opportunities. Also, the Rangers need to convert on their own powerplays, which they finally did on Thursday night. That needs to continue.

Crazy Thought: Stepan scores his first of the year.

Prediction: Khabibulin is hot, but so is Lundqvist. I think the Rangers edge the Oilers in a low scoring game 2-1.

Today’s game is on at 10pm on MSG and on AM1130 (Bloomberg Radio).
