James Mirtle has two great articles about advanced stats in hockey.  The first is about the new revolution of teams that are using the stats to help build their rosters in “Moneypuck” fashion, and the second is about why these stats haven’t caught on like they have in baseball.  Both are great reads.

Kevin Baumer of Blueshirt Bulletin looks at Dale Weise, and if there is room for him on this roster.  A lot of things need to happen for Weise to make the team, but it appears he could be ready for NHL duties.

Cris Cohen of Hockey Independent has a slogan that we should get used to this preseason: “Hope for the Best, Brace for the Worst”.  Considering Marc Staal’s concussion, that’s all we can do at this point.

Lastly, if you haven’t checked out Rangers Review for game reviews, you should.  He does a great job of breaking down the details of each game.
