STATE OF THE BLUESHIRTS: After dropping three straight on home ice the Rangers find themselves having fallen to 8th in the Eastern Conference in desperate need of two points.  They play Ottawa who has been near the bottom of the league for some time, but has been better since trading for Craig Anderson a few weeks ago, so the Rangers cannot afford to take them lightly.  The team needs to show urgency early, as they did last night, and sustain that level for 60 minutes.

CRAZY THOUGHT: Rangers get a two goal lead

OPPONENT’S BLOG: Silver Seven

PREDICTION: Rangers 3 Ottawa 1

This could be torts farewell game.

I only speculate because recently sather was talking to reporters about the team which means he is now becoming more hands on. Which means he is contemplating a new I don’t blame the players fr where we are. They have all done what the coach has asked of them. He is just not adapting or teaching a fluid style.

If your running the offense behind the net and the opposition is not biting. Move play to the half boards. If the opposition is chasing play behind the net.

Stop going strong up the boards. It’s not working. Design plays for your skill players. Gotta think outside the box.

I think Torts sees the year out at a minimum. Sather respects him. BUT… if they lose tonight, get a loss to Philly and a tough West coast trip… then, maybe the media will begin to speculate.
