The Rangers and Devils have a mini double header today, as the AHL squads squared off at 1pm at the Rock, with the big clubs dropping the puck at 7pm tonight. The Rangers dropped their first preseason game to Boston last night, 2-1. Tonight’s matchup is the first of the preseason for the Devils.

Andrew Gross had the Wolfpack and Rangers line combinations today.

Wolfpack:

Hartford (1 p.m. game)
Justin Soryal-Paul Crowder-Dale Weise
Devin Didiomete-Corey Locke-Ryan Bourque
Brodie Dupont-Ethan Werek-Andres Ambuhl
Daniel Bartek-Roman Horak-Jordan Owens
Trevor Glass-Sam Klassen
Nigel Williams-Tomas Kundratek
Ilkka Heikkinen-David Urquhart
G: Scott Stajcer/Miika Wiikman

Rangers:

Sean Avery-Vinny Prospal-P.A. Parenteau
Aaron Voros-Tyler Arnason-Enver Lisin
Evgeny Grachev-Brian Boyle-Ales Kotalik
Patrick Rissmiller-Matt Maccarone-Dan LaCouture
Wade Redden-Matt Gilroy
Michael Del Zotto-Michal Rozsival
Brent Henley-Corey Potter
G: Henrik Lundqvist/Chad Johnson

The Rangers that are playing two days in a row: Parenteau, Lisin, Grachev, Boyle, Kotalik, Maccarone, Gilroy, Del Zotto. It will be interesting to see if both Gilroy and Del Zotto match their performance from last night. Grachev also turned in a decent game, and tends to progress well as seasons wear on.

It’s a bit surprising to see Ilkka Heikkinen playing in the Hartford game, he was expected to compete for a roster spot on the Rangers during camp.

The Devils roster for the 7pm game:

Goalies: Yann Danis and Jeff Frazee

Defense: Johnny Oduya, Mike Mottau, Bryce Salvador, Cory Murphy, Mark Fraser, Alexander Urbom.

Forward lines (left to right): Zach Parise-Travis Zajac-Brendan Shanahan; Vladimir Zharkov-Patrice Cormier-David Clarkson; Brian Rolston-Dainius Zubrus-Niclas Bergfors and Pierre-Luc Letourneau-Leblond-Rod Pelley-Ilkka Pikkarainen.

No Brodeur. Elias had groin surgery.

Game time is 7pm. Feel free to discuss here.
