Ranger Prospects Make Cut, Contribute in Win

August 12, 2009, by

I’m still in LA, and still with limited access to the internet. Luckily, there hasn’t been much going on in Ranger land other than the Zherdev to the KHL rumors.

In promising news, all three Ranger prospects made the cut for the US National Team (Chris Kreider, Ryan Bourque, Derek Stepan). Both Bourque and Stepan contributed points (1 G and 1 A respectively) in the US’ dominating win over Russia, 8-1.

It is good to see the prospects contributing on their level, and we should hope their development continues.

Stepan is going to be gold.

i have heard so many good things about Stepan that it makes me wonder why he didnt make the 1st roudn in his draft yr?

Non ranger websites have all given glowing reports so hopefully we’ll have great centre depth
in the future with guys like Stepan, Werek and Anisimov supplementing Dubinsky, Drury etc…

i still hope we can get alot of mileage out of Boyle too.

quick update guys; looks like the Rangers have signed Francois Boullion; a rugged Canadiens D-man to a 1 year deal. If they have and he’s healthy its a real nice depth move and gives us more of a physical presence.
