In the most absurd suspension I’ve ever heard, Niklas Lindstrom and Pavel Datsyuk have been suspended a game a piece for not showing to the All Star Game this weekend.

I know that the NHL wants players to attend if they aren’t injured. And the suspensions would make sense if the selection process wasn’t corrupt and pointless (Kovalev over Ovechkin, seriously?). But when you have ignorant fans determining the starters of the pointless All Star Game, then a suspension for not showing is equally pointless.

Dear Gary Bettman,
Try and get the All Star voting right. Only then will you have the right to suspend players for not showing.

Love,
All hockey fans across North America.
